Brighton Half Marathon Sunday 16th February 2:41.26, 2 minutes slower than last year but my recovery was so much quicker.

My 2013 season:-

On Sunday 30th June 2013 I took part in the Eastleigh Open Water Triathlon. I did a 400m open water swim (15:07.2), then struggled out of my wetsuit (T1=02:43.45) and hopped onto my bike and cycle 20km around Eastleigh and Chandlers Ford (52:40.0). I then leapt off my bike (T2=00:51.65) and ran 5km around Lakeside, Eastleigh (29:01.05).
Total time = 01:40:23.30
However, my 2013/14 season doesn't begin and end with the Eastleigh Tri...

1st event of the 2013 season was the Brighton Half Marathon on 17/2/13 = 2:39:26.
my knee started hurting from about 8miles... (ran the 1st 8miles in 90mins then the last 5miles in 70mins)

WHY TRI? - Every penny that is donated will go directly to the thousands of children and young people who access No Limits every year.

No Limits:- Helping young people help themselves - offering information, advice, support, counseling & advocacy.

We help young people make informed choices & know their rights. Open to all, many troubled young people access support, advice & help about homelessness, unemployment, emotional & behavioural difficulties, family & relationship issues & health issues like substance misuse, mental health & sexual health. This help is delivered through our three drop-in centres in Southampton, schools, college drop ins & other community venues & includes one-to-one support & group work in Hampshire & Southampton.

The teenage years can be turbulent - young people have big decisions about their future, the anxiety of not knowing if they are making right choices & all this whilst trying to carve out their identity. Many young people struggle with complex & confusing issues in their transition to adulthood & our services target those who are most troubled - those who are homeless, not in education or employment, young parents, those with health issues & offer long term support with the many issues they face.

Your support will have a life changing impact on the young people, especially those struggling to make successful transitions into adulthood. Last year we helped 5,000 young people, 45% of whom told us they had complex problems. We helped 251 homeless young people find housing; 257 young people to look for work; 352 attended counseling & became more resilient. 79% of our young people felt more able to deal with their problems as a result of our help; 81% told us their levels of stress had improved.
