Selina & Riley's Hillside Appeal

UPDATE - 31/12/15: I just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who has donated to our appeal. Hillside is a fantastic place and Riley would be landed to know we raised so much to help them.

Hillside is an amazing charity that cares for all types of animals; ranging from cattle & horses to sheep, goats, deer, dogs, chickens and pretty much anything else they are asked to help.

The work that they do is both fantastic & vital and also very, very expensive. My best friend Riley (see photo), who loves horses, and I have decided to try to raise some funds, to help this wonderful charity continue it's incredible work.

We are hoping to raise most through store collections and a few smaller sponsored challenges. The first one is going to be the Ice Bucket Challenge, which I'm doing on Wednesday (Riley chickened out, on account of he doesn't want to wreck his hair - he's very vain) and the next is a 10 mile sponsored walk, in October. Finally, in August next year we will be walking up to the top of Pen Y Fan, the highest mountain in South Wales.

Challenge 1 (Selina) : Ice Bucket Challenge - completed on the 03/09/14 and bloody cold it was to.

Challenge 2 (Riley) : Forfeit for not doing the Ice Bucket Challenge - Walk the whole length of Aberavon Beach, wearing a giant "13 Today" Birthday badge, attached to his collar, without dying of embarrassment - completed on the 06/09/14 (his birthday).

Challenge 3 (Selina & Riley) : 10 mile sponsored walk, along the Millennium Coastal Path, in Llanelli - completed on the 18/10/14. Riley only did the first 2 miles, due to him being such a Diva. After that, he lent his support from the warmth and comfort of the sofa - Thanks for that Riley boy.

Collection 1 (Swansea Train Station - 08/11/14) : Many THANKS to Maria Stevens and all the station staff, for allowing me to collect. and to all those who gave - another £75 for the Sanctuary xx

Collection 2 (Wyevale Garden Centre, Swansea - 21 & 22/02/15) : Many Thanks to Steve, for allowing me to collect, and to all the wonderful customers who donated. You are all amazing - £272.39 is going to buy quite a lot of Hay xx

Collection 3 (Swansea Street Collection - 07/03/15) : Massive THANKS to Andy for allowing me to collect and to all the wonderful people who donated.

Collection 4 (Swansea Train Station - 14/03/15) : Many THANKS once again, to the wonderful Maria Stevens for allowing me to collect and to all those who gave - £67.23 will keep them in carrots for a good while xx

Collection 5 (Swansea Street Collection - 20/04/15) : Many THANKS again to Andy, at Swansea Council, for allowing me to collect and to all the wonderful people who donated. Another £73.87 - YIPPEE xx

Collection 6 (Wyevale Garden Centre, Swansea - 08 & 09/08/15) : Massive THANKS once again, to Steve and all the Wyevale staff and to all the wonderful customers who gave - £251.37 AMAZING xx

Challenge 4 (Selina) : Pen Y Fan/Corn Du Walk - completed on the 29/08/15. Riley didn't come today. His heart was up for it, but his nearly 14 year old legs had other ideas. Instead my amazing 2 legged family, Andrew, Michael & Kelly Puckett, all came along to keep me company. Feeling lucky xx

UPDATE - 21/09/15 : We lost our beautiful Riley today. He was simply the best dog in the whole world and we will all miss him so much. See you at the Rainbow Bridge my Darling Boy, Love always Mam, Dad, Michael & Kelly xxxx
