Mikes 2015 Kilimanjaro Summit Trek

Event date: 11th January 2015

Mike Boyce is raising money for Wolverhampton Rotary Club Charitable Trust

My story

On 11th January 2015 I start the trek up Kilimanjaro. Having been thinking about it for 3 years its time to get on with it before I get too old! I'm middle aged, non sporting and more than a touch over-weight but I mean- how hard can it be? I like walking so I'm sure it'll be ok. Mind you, I've never walked for a week up over 19,000 feet before or camped on Africa's tallest mountain- one of the Worlds Seven Summits.
I am determined though!!!
Through the Rotary Club that I am a member of, I would like to raise as much money as I can for my three chosen charities. Compton Hospice provide care and support for those coping with life limiting illnesses in and around Wolverhampton. Moving Mountains Trust provide relief from poverty in Kenya, Nepal and Borneo through health, education and employment projects. Their latest project is a Primary School in Ngaroni near the base of Kilimanjaro and the money that is donated will support this school. The Rotary Club of Wolverhampton raises funds to provide support where needed locally, nationally and internationally.
I am paying all my expenses- flights, accommodation, food etc so all funds donated will go in total to the charities.

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Wolverhampton Rotary Club Charitable Trust.
