Description:
Founded in 2006, Peer Productions is an award winning youth arts charity specialising in combining high quality arts practice with peer education to enable young people to change the way they think and make positive life choices. The work is made by and for young people and focuses on three interlinked strands of Identity, Crime Prevention and Health. Since the company started, they have reached over 80,000 young people across the South East.
We have developed a unique approach where young people are central at every stage of the creative process. This approach is unique because it uses peer education, theatre and film to empower three separate groups of beneficiaries: young peer educators, disadvantaged project participants and young audience members
We train young people (aged 16 ? 23 years) as actors and peer educators enabling them to deliver a series of arts projects in the community and forge a career in the arts industry. We deliver drama and film outreach projects for disadvantaged young people using creativity as a toll to enable them to achieve their full potential and make positive life choice.
We tour specially commissioned plays to schools and youth settings which tackle the issues that matter most to young people.
