I have decided to fundraise for Withybush Hospital Cancer Day Unit Appeal whilst Partaking In this years Ironman Wales,

Ironman Wales is classed as one of the hardest Ironman events on the World Circuit competing for the top spot with the likes of Lanzarote and Kona (Hawai'i) as you can imagine having this world renowned event on my doorstep is truly amazing and its boosted with the thousands who turn up on race day to support each and every participant through to the finish line

• for those of you unaware what an Ironman actually consists of it is 3 disciplines swim bike and run.

The day starts at 0700 on Tenby's Famous North Beach where over 2000 competitors take on a 2.4 mile sea swim ,you then head on a 1km run to your bike and climb aboard for 112 miles of gruelling Pembrokeshire hills, upon your return to Tenby you Put on your running shoes and head out on a 26.2 mile run .....

this all needs to be completed by midnight that night which gives you 17 hours.

As you can imagine to be able to do this you need support from your nearest and dearest and on that front I am truly fortunate.

I know the work I put in on the day is nothing compared to what the WHCDU provide to those in need of their services.
