79 Days of Abstinence

For the 79 days of Abstinence I plan to eat no meat, no fish and no sweet treats from August 29th to November 15th. I'm doing this in a bid to raise awareness of the 79 countries around the world where it is against the law to freely express your sexuality and gender identity.

Meat, fish and sweet treats are things I really love eating and I'm going to find it so hard to go without them, but they're also things that we now take for granted as things we can all get easily. I want people to think about what they, in their relationships, take for granted, and ask people to think about what it would be like for them if they couldn't hold their partner's hand or go to family events with them.

All the money raised will go towards Breakout Youth, a charity that supports young people who identify as LGBTQ (Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning). Breakout Youth runs activity based and educational sessions in Southampton, Basingstoke, Eastleigh and on the Isle of Wight to assist young people with building their confidence and accepting who they are.
