Orphaned and abandoned children in rural areas of South India are cared for in four specially built Children's Villages. They live in small family houses with a foster mother. Many of the children have lost parents to AIDS and some are HIV+ themselves. RTU also supports the poorest village families, enabling children to be properly fed and keep attending school. Old people with no family are given a monthly allowance; destitute families are provided with a small houses; wells are drilled; women are enabled to run self-help groups; a mobile clinic visits isolated villages - and more.
