Support Sachibondu Health Center in Zambia

Dear friends and generous surfers of the internet,

It's been a while now since I've decided to direct all efforts in my work towards creating a better world. I believe in the power of architecture for social, political, ecological, economic, and cultural change, and today I find myself exploring different ways in which I can make the most out of that power to generate meaningful impact on our planet.

This summer, I'll be collaborating with Orkidstudio, an amazing humanitarian design organization (check out their cool web page: orkidstudio.co.uk), on a beautiful project.  I'll be moving to Zambia to work on the design, construction, and project management of Sachibondu, a much-needed rural health center in a remote region near the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Sachibondu currently serves tens of thousands of people, but its facilities are of poor quality and limited space. Development and growth of the Centre has always been dictated by urgent need, with little or no design input. Our aim is to change this, by providing spaces that can have a positive impact on patient and staff health and well-being.

The project will rebuild Sachibondu as part of a long-term masterplan and development strategy. It will provide high-quality facilities (with most materials produced on site or sourced locally) and will assist in an upgrade in national status to a First Level Hospital which will ensure greater support from the Ministry of Health and provision of more and better-trained staff.

Construction began in 2016, but coming stages rely on funding from donors like you. Support this wonderful initiative and participate in changing the lives of thousands of people!  Your contribution, no matter how small, will make a huge difference. 100% of funds raised will go directly towards the Sachibondu Project (construction materials, local labor, hospital furniture, medical equipment).
