Rebecca's skydive for Rape Crisis and Teenage Cancer Trust

Event date: 27th May 2017

My story

Both of these charities are very close to me.

Last year was terrible for both me and my close friend Lauren.

Sadly last year my close friend Lauren got diagnosed with cancer. Teenage Cancer Trust have helped her and her family through the whole process. I was lucky enough to see one of the wards at Nottingham and saw how amazing they are and how they make teenagers feel as if they are not in a hospital. 7 young people are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK and this charity is the only charity dedicated to providing specialist care and support when they need it the most. Its hard enough being a teenager let alone having to cope cancer.

I have picked rape crisis as my second charity. Rape crisis help women who have been raped and sexually assaulted. This charity help women like myself who are coming to terms with what has happened. Around 90% of sexual assault or rape committed by known men friends, colleagues, neighbours etc. This can happen in their own homes or even in their workplace. Nearly half a million adults are sexually assaulted in England and only 15% choose to report the crime.

Both charities are very important to me and I would love for you to sponsor my skydive.

A portion of the sponsorship raised may be used to pay for part of my jump cost.
