Docklands Sailing and Watersports Centre - Properties of the World

Thank you for helping us raise money for the DSWC Charity Dragon Boat Race on Friday 18th August. With your support, Properties of the World managed to raise the requested £250 (plus more) which will go towards ensuring children have access to watersports and other activities .

The aim of the Youth Programme is to provide water activities in Sailing, Windsurfing, Kayaking and Canoeing to children living in the East London area. Watersports have the ability to make a difference and to change lives. Through their carefully structured programmes, children acquire technical skills using the national governing body?s syllabus, by professionally qualified instructors. They also gain valuable life skills such as confidence, self-reliance, independence, teamwork, responsibility, reliability and trust in one another.

With Tower Hamlets and East London being one of the most deprived areas in the UK, and having the highest level of child poverty, many children cannot afford activities such as sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and canoeing. The DSWC Youth Programme offers children from disadvantaged backgrounds opportunities that they would never have been able to afford.

We had a fantastic time on the day and although we did not win the race, were extremely proud to have reached the final round!
