Gem's Jump for Dad & The Brain Tumour Charity

Event date: 17th April 2017

My story

I DID IT!! Weather turned out okay on Monday 17th April so at around 10:30am up we went and out we jumped! Amazing experience and the team at the UK Skydiving Adventures were fab! Any further sponsors before my page closes on the 5th May would be amazing and all donations so far have truly made the experience worth it :)

Okay now it was five years this January since the most amazing, caring man passed away because of a cancerous lymphoma in his brain. As a family we have been through all the elements of emotions and changes that come from losing a loved one. Every year I've been posting a picture on social media for some form of comfort and we go visit Dad at the cemetery but till this day it still doesn't feel real.

When Dad was 18, he took part in a sky dive just for the thrill of it with some of his mates! Now...(even though my Nan will probably kill me for this) I want to be as much of a thrill-seeker as he was and go for the jump myself for charity. I would like to support The Brain Tumour Charity for all that they do on April 15th - this date is even more special to us as this is Dad's birthday! And I know I don't have to do much preparation physically for a skydive but I think this will be more of a challenge for me than I first realised as I have found that (from a recent Go Ape experience) I'm more scared of heights than I thought!

If you could help me to raise money and turn something round from such a sad and upsetting thing to go through into a more positive one - it would mean the world to me, my family and anyone affected by tumours. A portion of the sponsorship raised may be used to pay for part or all of my jump cost. A minimum of 50% of what is raised will go to my chosen charity.

Now it's not too far away but I will keep you all updated near to the date on how sponsors are going and whether or not I've copped out of it!! (I won't F.Y.I!)

LOADS of love xxx
