Mr Williamson does The Rumble

Event dates: 20th May 2018 – 20th July 2018

Ryedale School is raising money for Friends of Ryedale School

My story

Andrew Williamson a music teacher (not a cyclist) at Ryedale School has kindly and very bravely offered to ride all 3 routes of the Ryedale Rumble over the next 3 months to help raise money for the Friends of Ryedale School. Despite this crazy offer you will sadly not see him racing through the beautiful countryside of Ryedale or whizzing across the North York Moors as he is planning to do all the routes on an exercise bike. Fear not, although this sounds like an easy way out and just a great way to avoid Boltby, Blakey and Chimney Banks he has this covered and will still feel the burn as if he was really climbing those beasts! He has printed off the Strava routes, calculated the gradients and programmed his bike to simulate the hills. Cath his lovely wife will verify and track his progress so you can be assured no cheating will take place!

Andrew will bike the Inspire route which is 80 km during the month of May. Following on from this he will ride the 120 km Challenge route in June and then in July will tackle the 180 km Extreme route. He plans to ride the last 5 kms of the Extreme route on July 13th after finishing a 13 miles whole school sponsored walk which is organised by Friends of Ryedale School. Andrew will complete his challenge on his exercise bike as the pu[pils are completing their walk and hopefully they will give him enough encouragement to finish this mammoth task.

Andrew and Friends of Ryedale School would be extremely grateful for any donation you can make. Do include words of encouragement for Andrew to help him up those steep hills and over the long runs across the North York Moors. This is a huge and generous offer and we want to raise as much money as possible!

Thank you.
