Mid Life Madness (Not a crisis)

Event date: 8th September 2012

Matt Watson is raising money for Dove Cottage Day Hospice

My story

Well I don't usually get round to doing events for charity but this time I have made an exception as I think I may just have surpassed myself in the idiocy stakes.

On the 8th September I am taking part in what is affectionately known as The Vitruvian, pacesetterevents.com/vitruvian-triathlon.php . So, I throw myself in a cold expanse of water to do a controlled drown for 1900m, then shuffle my way onto my bike for 84km and finally sore, cold and a gibbering mess proceed to run a half marathon with legs that quite frankly will be anyones but mine.

Now as some of you know my mother-In-law has MS and one day a week goes to a day hospice called Dove Cottage dovecottage.org They are an independent organisation offering high quality palliative day care to those local people with supportive and palliative care needs, living with advanced progressive life limiting illness. All their services are offered free of charge and they do an exceptional job in difficult times. I wanted to give something back for all the support they have shown Avril and my father in law too.

So as much as I hate to do this (I know you all get a lot of these requests) put your hands in your pockets (That includes you Corrina) and sponsor me for anything you can. All very much appreciated and may just inspire me for those hours of pain at such an advanced age!!!

Many thanks

Matt
