Marathon & Tough Mudder 2019

Event date: 8th September 2019

Dave Atkinson, with Chris Tower, Emma Willert, Nick Owen, Peter McIlhagger, Rob Willert, Seamus Grundy, Steve Rankin, and Zack Rankin are raising money for Trafford Youth for Christ

Our story

My mid-life crisis has landed, and in a moment of utter madness I decided to compete in the Manchester Marathon on 7th April 2019... as well as doing the Full Classic Tough Mudder in Cholmondeley on 8th September 2019.
...
I managed to complete the Greater Manchester Marathon in 5:51:49 (3 minutes faster than I had calculated beforehand!), and I was well-supported throughout the course by Zoe Abernethy (Ex-Associate), Chris Tower (Local Supporter), and Steve Thurston (Trustee), and I even managed to get a sprint-finish (even if it was just for the final 100m) - THANKS guys!
...
Thank you for the financial support that has already come through this page - it will be such a blessing to the work of Trafford Youth For Christ - I have now completed the challenges, but please continue to support me (and the other 'volunteers') as I realise just how much punishment my body has been forced to endure as a result.
...
At the Tough Mudder Classic, I was joined by a number of friends again, and we completed the course as a team. We had 10 in our team last year for the Tough Mudder Half, and we had 9 in this year's team (that meant we all had to put an extra 22.2% effort on top of our 110% to make up the difference!) The 'volunteers' that joined me were: Chris Tower, Emma Willert, Nick Owen, Peter McIlhagger, Rob Willert, Seamus Grundy, Steve Rankin, and Zack Rankin.
Photos will be published on the Trafford Youth For Christ Facebook page when they’re available.
...
So... last year was a little HALF-hearted, and this year we went ALL THE WAY to earn your support.
...
We're all raising money for Trafford Youth For Christ - trafford.yfc.co.uk - so please also consider getting in touch with the office directly to set up a Standing Order (and quote the "GOOD NEWS BIBLE GIVE-AWAY" to enable young people in Trafford to receive a FREE copy of the Good News Youth Bible as a result of you setting up your standing order!)
...
Thanks for your support and prayers.
