Help My Village in Nepal

Dear Friends and Supporters,

We are pleased to inform you that finally, following concentrated efforts throughout most of the past year, and after overcoming endless obstacles, we are very close to the commencement of construction of our first model house in the village of Tandrang.

The joint efforts of Lead Nepal and Namlo Europa (the Spanish NGO which joined our effort last year, with its most helpful and insightful director, Mrs Magda King (Nos)), proved to be fruitful. We are now just a small step away from constructing our first house, and have a detailed construction plan with a calculated cost of $8700, a local experienced engineer to oversee the construction, a community waiting to participate and donate all unskilled labour free of charge, and one family of five (including a 78 year old grandmother) who hope to spend the second half of the harsh Nepali winter in a proper house instead of the makeshift hut they currently reside in.

However, due to the depreciation of the pound and the escalating building costs in Nepal, the funding we raised no longer suffices. Currently, we have just above $6000 and need to raise approximately $3000 for the project to be completed according to plan.

We very much hope that you understand the crucial stage we are at, and will be willing to help Lead Nepal once more in making a long lasting difference in Nepal.
