About Friends of Mengo Hospital
Friends of Mengo Hospital is a charity which supports Mengo Hospital, a 300 bed general hospital located in Kampala, Uganda. The hospital, founded in 1897 by Sir Albert Cook, was the first hospital in East Africa and is one of the major hospitals in Kampala licensed as a health delivery unit by the Ministry of Health. Their mission is to provide an excellent and sustainable health service that bears witness to Christ. Our aim is to help the hospital to continue in their mission by promoting the international profile of the hospital and its important work, providing support and encouragement to those running/working in the hospital, Sharing in Gods vision for the future of Mengo Hospital and Fundraising. The charity has three branches in the UK, USA and Canada.
