About my fundraising
In order to swim the equivalent of one mile, a swimmer must complete 66 lengths of a 25-metre pool. In order to swim five miles, 330 lengths of the same pool are needed.
I know this, because it's precisely what I intend to do for the next twelve months.
My reasons are simple: for every mile I swim, I'll donate £5 to Alzheimer's Research UK, and for every month I complete this challenge, I'll update a blog at: https://dementiaandthedeepbluesea.blog/
To keep me honest, I'm entering a "Race at Your Pace" challenge every month and submitting the training evidence to them, and being sent a shiny medal in the process.
If you'd like to support me, you can follow my progress here and on my blog.
P.S. When you make a donation, don't forget to check the Gift Aid box if you're a UK taxpayer as then your charity can claim an extra 25% from the government!
* Gift Aid amount shown is not included in the appeal total and is dependent on confirmation from HMRC.
** Pledges are not included in the total until they are paid.
The transactions listed on this page may not add up to the total shown at the top. It is not always possible to display all transactions.
