A giant personal challenge - 2.5km swim

CHALLENGE ACHIEVED !
I would like to thank my husband John and the staff at West Wight Sports Centre for making this challenge possible and to thank everyone who has supported me financially and with encouragement. In total the challenge has raised over £400.

As a wheelchair user I am very grateful for the hoist and friendly lifeguards at West Wight Sports and Community Centre who make swimming possible. I aim to swim 100 lengths to raise money towards wheelchair accessible equipment for the new gym extension.
This has been a giant personal challenge because it has been a long slow journey. In August 2017 when I returned home after 5 months in hospital just getting in the water would have been impossible. In November I got back in the water and a month later achieved 10 lengths. By July 2018 I managed 30 lengths and set myself the target of 100 lengths within a year. On 29th March 2019 I hope to achieve that target.
