Charles Bagot is raising money for West Wight Sports & Community Centre
I am swimming across the Solent from the mainland to the Isle of Wight on 4 August. I am going for my Hat trick of Solent crossings (by swimming!). This is a challenging sea swim in some of the UK's most tidal waters. Not to mention crossing one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world, in the choppy waters. The water may be less cold this year after the heatwave, but this has attracted marine life, including numerous species of shark, not normally seen in these waters. That should make us swim fast!
Whilst this seems a bit extreme to save on a ferry ticket, it's all in aid of raising funds for the West Wight Sports Trust. This receives no state funding and provides much needed sporting, recreational and rehabilitation services to disabled and disadvantaged members of this rural community. All funds will be put to good use keeping the centre and the services going.
Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto West Wight Sports & Community Centre.
