Trinity Hospice was established in 1891 and is the oldest hospice in the UK. Each year, they provide care for over 2,000 individuals with a terminal illness in their own homes, as outpatients and in the Trinity Hospice inpatient centre. Services include medical, physical, emotional and practical support and are intended to improve quality of life for patients for whatever time is left, be it one year, one month or one week.
It costs nearly £9 million annually to maintain Trinity's vital services, all of which are provided free of charge to patients and their families. Just 36% of funding comes from the NHS - therefore Trinity Hospice rely heavily on the support of voluntary donations from the community and projects such as Give As You Live to raise the remaining £6 million each year. Without your support and generosity, Trinity would simply not exist.
