St. Margaret's Hospice is a registered charity which has been at the heart of Somerset's community, making each day count for over 37 years. We strive to make each day count through the delivery of high quality, responsive, compassionate care to patients and their families facing a life shortening illness.
Through our medical expertise, nursing skills and specialist support services, we provide physical, emotional and spiritual care to over 3,800 patients and their families each year.
We put our patients at the heart of all we do; treating symptoms, controlling pain and caring for their emotional, psychological and spiritual needs. We support the whole family through a wide range of services such as intensive care in our inpatient units, care at home, outpatient care, complimentary therapies and bereavement support for those who need it. We also support a wide range of carers, young and old. We provide care and support for families and friends for as long as they need us. We rely on over 1,200 volunteers to help deliver our care.
Hospices are normally associated with cancer. We care for anyone with a life shortening illness including motor-neurone disease, cardiac failure, renal failure, chronic respiratory disease and other life shortening conditions.
