Description:
Mountain Movers is an inclusive learning community that supports families of children with complex disabilities and chronic health conditions who are unable to access mainstream education for a wide variety of reasons such as lack of suitable provision, lack of funding for supportable support, mental health issues including self-harm and suicidal tendencies to those with a philosophy lifestyle choice. This includes children who have been excluded from mainstream schools and are awaiting specialist provision. The group is also accessed by the traveler community.
The charity provides support by giving access to educational and social opportunities and as an accredited ASDAN centre with trained moderators, has a good track record of delivering alternative qualifications that can be adapted to meet the needs of children with complex and multiple disabilities.
Our aim is to provide structured learning opportunities, inclusive sports, and arts provisions as well as being a place of friendship, support, and advocacy.
We hold a number of different sessions per week at different venues in the South Wales area of the UK.
We receive no government funding for our services.
