Jo Brown is raising money for Hospice At Home West Cumbria
In memory of my very own hero, Paul Brown.
Paul Brown was the most beautiful person. He brought joy to so many lives. He was diagnosed with cancer in May 2016, less than 2 days after our wedding day. We had one day of married life cancer free and we then endured an 18 month battle with the disease until his death. As a young family (our beautiful son is just 2) cancer brought so many challenges. We met so many people touched by cancer and other illnesses. We learned that there is no superhero that comes in and fixes these for you. But you learn to become your own hero with support. Besides our loved ones, the best support we got was from Hospice at Home West Cumbria. They offer complimentary therapies for patient and carers, family support, bereavement support and help explaining to children. Paul was passionate about helping others and during his illness we created Be Your Own Hero and raised £6,000. I'd love to raise more in his memory and continue to be kind and helpful to keep Paul's spirit alive
