Anjelica Season is raising money for No Limits
I am swimming the Jubilee River 10k swim to raise money for No Limits, a vital charity that offers information, advice, counselling, advocacy and support for children and young people under the age of 26 in Southampton and Hampshire.
I volunteer as an advice and information worker in their Shirley Drop-in centre and have seen first hand the essential work that the charity does. This has motivated me to dedicate my swimming escapades to No Limits.
There has never been a more important time to support the work of organisations like No Limits. NCB reported that children's and young people's charities have been disproportionately effected by public funding cuts: £405 million will have been cut between 2011/12 and 2015/16. This is at the same time as 2.3 million young people aged 16-24 experience a rights-related problem (such as homelessness, debt, unfair dismissal), and 93% of these young people receive no help from professional independent advice services (JustRights, Dec 2014).
What your donations could pay for:
£5 will allow us to buy a food bag to help a sofa surfing young person cook a meal for his/her hosts.
£40 allows us to give one to one counselling support to a young person
£10 allows us to buy a sleeping bag for emergency help to a street homeless young person.
£10 allows us to buy a box of fruit from a wholesaler to promote healthy eating ? which helps young peoples mental health
£250 will allow us to run an anger management course for up to 6 young people.
£10 allows us to fund an Independent Visitor to take a young person in care out for the day
£5 will allow us to help a young person create a cv and make 20 photocopies
£25 will pay for a vulnerable young person to go on an activity day to build self confidence
£100 will allow us to run a youth club for young people who suffer with a mental health difficulty allowing the parents to have an evening off as respite
£35 will allow us to help a vulnerable parent buy a set of school uniforms for a child
If you want to support No Limits please donate! Thank you very much for taking the time to visit my page and to read about No Limits. I hope that you want to support us!
