Maya's Brighton Marathon fundraising page

I have decided to run the Brighton Marathon 2018 (15/04/18) to raise money for Animal S.O.S. Sri Lanka.

Why?!
This will be my first ever marathon which is scary and exciting at the same time! Those 26.2 miles will be a real push and test of physical endurance so I would really love to raise money for a good cause in doing so!

Animal S.O.S. Sri Lanka are a British run charity that aims to alleviate the suffering of stray animals in Sri Lanka by providing life-saving veterinary care, rehabilitation, homing and refuge. The work they do was basically a dream of mine as a kid.

Growing up in Sri Lanka, I witnessed stray dogs and cats suffering on the streets feeling powerless to help apart from feeding them when I could. The conditions out there are harsh, where strays are commonplace and are shown little kindness. This charity is making a difference and doing life-saving work in the country I grew up in, so is very close to my heart.
I strongly believe in supporting smaller charities where the money will go towards their daily work rather than admin. fees.
