Yvonne Harrison is on the run again! This time taking part in the Croydon Half Marathon on Sunday 1st April (this is NOT an April Fool). Raising funds for the Biggin Hill Romania Group.

The Biggin Hill Romania Group is a voluntary group set up in 1990 as a result of a then televised appeal for aid to go to children in state institutions in Romania. The work has developed over the years into support for families and young people particularly in the area of Comenesti where currently the unemployment rate is 85%. The Robert Cole Centre which provides more specialist help for youngsters with disabilities was founded in 1997 and is now well established, working in partnership with the local authorities and bringing employment to the area. A need was then identified for a support of those young people who were too old for the school but still needed help to prepare them for adult life. More recently, the other half of the first floor has been refurbished to create a medical and dental care centre to support the local community and fill the considerable gaps in this area. All this has been achieved through the tireless efforts of many volunteers and fund raisers.
