About York Nightstop Charity
York Nightstop Charity works to prevent youth homelessness in York and North Yorkshire. We provide emergency and temporary accommodation in the homes of trained and approved volunteers for vulnerable young people aged 16 to 25. We also offer education work to schools and youth clubs, informing young people about homelessness. And we have a successful consultation project, the Voice, which gives young people in York who have experienced homelessness the chance to feedback into the services designed to help them. Our Nightstop schemes in York, Ryedale, Hambleton and Richmondshire were asked to help 250 times last year. Our longer term supported lodgings project, SASH, provides 12 places for young people with volunteers who help them develop the skills they will need to live independently in the future.
