About Wirral Autistic Society
The Wirral Autistic Society is a leading provider of residential and day care services for autistic adults. We currently care for over 100 clients from throughout the UK. The world can be a very confusing place for a person with autism. Although the cause of the condition is not fully understood, a structured programme of education and training can benefit people with autism and help them manage their disability to varying degrees. Day care services offered include workshops in music, ceramics, printing, craft, cookery, woodwork, personal development and IT, as well as horticulture work experience. People can be affected by autism to various degrees and some may require full care and support whilst others may need less intervention. We aim to encourage as much independence and self-development as possible in our clients. Parents and carers need support too, and we provide respite care and an outreach service.
