On 16th October I will be embarking on this 3 day trek in the Carpathian Mountains. Love Light Romania Aid is a registered British Charity that supports a Romanian Charity: Love Light Romania - which is run by a British Couple, Ron and Jo Jowett.

Ron & Jo founded their charity in 2000 when they went to live in Romania in order to look after some children suffering from HIV who they had found neglected and abandoned, during their regular trips taking aid to the country.

They opened the placement centre called "The Sanctuary", which has twelve permanent residents, two of whom were rescued from a rubbish tip, where they were found living with their mother who has since died of AIDS. Jo promised their mother she would bring them up and offer them a better life.

Little money is received from official sources to fund this work and the charity relies heavily on donations and fundraising events.
