VMM recruit, train and support lay personnel to work in areas of great need in developing regions of Africa including, Kenya, Malawi, Sierra Leone, South Sudan and Tanzania, and, Uganda and Zambia.

We continue to make an impact to the poor and marginalised people in Africa. Over 50 skilled personnel are currently working in areas that have been requested for assistance and training. We are helping local people in sometimes deplorable conditions and empowering them so that they can make a difference in their lives. We are teaching children in the many primary schools, training in hospices and saving lives in hospitals.

VMM has over 40 years experience of professional Faith Based Development work in Africa and elsewhere. Its faith based perspective adds strategic value, particularly in regions where service provision is often provided by faith based and religious groups. VMM is a lay non-government organisation (NGO), founded in 1969, whose members share their lives, faith, resources and skills to promote equality, respect and dignity for all. VMM is a membership-based organisation based in three regions: England/Wales, Scotland and Ireland. Our founding ethos is based upon ecumenical Christian principles and we work with people and communities regardless of religion, politics or social status.

Our aim is to build the capacity of local development organisations? through strategic partnership through the provision of skilled professional personnel on one and two years contracts, counterpart mentoring and project resource support. Established in 1969, VMM has built strategic partnerships in over 25 countries and provided over 2,800 specialist personnel. On their return to the UK and Ireland these personnel continue their advocacy work within their home communities as members of VMM. Provision of training courses for local personnel and access to project specific funding in line with local Partner Plans are supported through VMM.
