About Twinkle House

Twinkle House is a registered Charity based in Skelmersdale that provides practical supported sessions for children and young people with disabilities and additional needs in West Lancashire and neighbouring areas. Sessions are sensory-based and supported by our specially trained staff and volunteers provide strategies to parents and carers to help improve our clients' life skills and abilities, helping them achieve their potential. We teach relaxation techniques and promote positive behaviours, helping to improve their overall well-being and quality of life. Many of our clients have behavioral, emotional and social difficulties as a result of their condition. We support 30 children each week and all year round. Many of our clients have conditions such as Autistic spectrum disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder or ADHD, Down's syndrome. We are able to help them cope better with some of the difficulties they face as a result of their condition.

Every £30.00 raised enables Twinkle House to provide a one hour, one-to-one session for a child or young person with disabilities. We desperately need new premises to be able to offer more support as we now have a 6 month waiting list for help. We have launched a Fundraising target to raise £1million by 2014 to help us get a new centre. Can you help us by doing a fundraising event to raise funds for our new centre?
