My Event: On Saturday 18th of August, I will be I Strood Leisure Centre attempting what experience rower Will H-S described as sounding "absolutely hellish" - 50km on a rowing machine. For videos of the event you can visit the facebook event http://www.facebook.com/events/407940855919896/
What I will be doing:
On September 1st I will be flying to India with Development in Action on a 5 month placement to work in a charity called Seva Mandir in Rajasthan. Seva Mandir?s work aims to empower rural people through Natural Resources Development Programmes, Education, Health, Women and Child Development and Institution Building. Development in Action supports sustainable organisations with good links in the community and is a really worthwhile cause. They also operate in the UK, encouraging global citizenship to young people in schools and through outreach programmes nationwide.
