Virgin London Marathon 2014 in aid of the Georgina Unit, Russells Hall

I am attempting to run the 2014 Virgin London marathon 2014 in aid of The Leukaemia Unit Appeal Fund (Dudley) Georgina Unit Russells Hall Hospital.

The charity is very close to my heart after receiving the devastating news that my Mum had terminal cancer she then spent her final weeks on the The Georgina Unit at Russell's Hall Hospital.

My Mum (Dawn Byng) fought Cancer for 4 years before she lost her battle with the cruel disease in August 2006. During those four years my Mum endured Chemotherapy on several occasions but she never lost her spirit. Anyone who was lucky enough to meet or know my Mum would know she was an out going and caring person. Despite these tough times she maintained a positive out look on life and encouraged me and my sister in everything we did. She was a much loved character of whom I was proud to call her my Mum.

After nearly 8 years I feel its time I attempted to give something back to the ward and staff who gave so much and made my mums stay on the ward comfortable and as pleasant as could of been possible under the circumstances.
