Personnel Placements Three Peaks Challenge

Event date: 24th August 2013

Personnel Placements is raising money for The Stable Family Home Trust

My story

Here at Personnel Placements (Ex The People Bureau) we have decided to take part in the National Three Peaks Challenge. We will be tackling Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon - all in just 24hrs - over the August Bank Holiday Weekend (24th & 25th August 2013).

This is going to be a real challenge as none of us has attempted anything like this before. However, we have started our training and are already "breaking in" our walking boots.

As a Ringwood based company, we have decided to raise money for The Stable Family Home Trust. This is a local charity based in Bisterne, Ringwood, who are currently renovating their Training Kitchen and are in need of funds to complete the project.
The Training Kitchen will provide learning opportunities for up to six people at any one time. They will learn how to prepare a healthy, nutritious meal under the watchful eye of the Trust's peripatetic tutors and will receive training on how to safely handle a wide variety of equipment including hand mixers, food processors, knives, hot pans etc. In addition, there will be training in food hygiene, care of the equipment and working environment. This training will enable some of the service users to cook for themselves and for some it may be an opportunity for them to find paid employment in a commercial kitchen.

Opportunities like the Training Kitchen demonstrate the ethos of The Stable Family Home Trust "supporting people with a learning disability to lead ordinary lives with extraordinary moments".

We have put together a team of 7 walkers: Tina, Georgie, Laura, Lynne, Gill, David, Sam, and 2 drivers - Keith and Russ.
We will pile into a minibus in the early hours of Saturday 24 August, drive up to Scotland, to begin the challenge on Saturday afternoon. After a short hike up to the summit of Ben Nevis and back down again, we will drive to the Lake District, and amble up and down Scafell Pike. We will then drive down to Wales for one last effort - up to the top of Snowdon and down again. Hopefully, we will have completed the challenge by Sunday afternoon!

If you would like to show your support and help us raise funds for The Stable Family Home Trust, then please dig deep and make a donation.

Every penny matters!
