About THE KANGA PROJECT
The Kanga Project supports the work of grassroots women-led organisations in Tanzania that strive to overcome the social, cultural, economic and political marginalisation of women. Through education, new skills, business start up loans and lessons in empowerment, civic rights and capacity building, these organizations are initiating a renaissance of African society based on equality, dignity and access to resources.

A) TO REDUCE POVERTY, PARTICULARLY AMONGST RURAL WOMEN IN AFRICA BY PROVIDING TRAINING AND EDUCATION AND PROMOTING SELF RELIANCE;
B) TO PROMOTE AND FACILITATE THE EDUCATION OF GIRLS FROM PRIMARY TO TERTIARY LEVELS;
C) TO PROMOTE, FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC "SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT WHICH MEETS THE NEEDS OF THE PRESENT WITHOUT COMPROMISING THE ABILITY OF FUTURE GENERATIONS TO MEET THEIR OWN NEEDS" (WORLD COMMISSION ON ENVIRONMENT AND DEVELOPMENT, OVER COMMON FUTURE, 1987) BY;
THE RELIEF OF POVERTY AND THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE IN SOCIALLY AND DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES.
THE PROMOTION OF SUSTAINABLE MEANS OF ACTIONING ECONOMIC GROWTH AND REGENERATION THAT TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE PRESERVATION, CONSERVATION AND THE PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE PRUDENT USE OF RESOURCES.
