About Enfield Clubhouse Ltd
Enfield Clubhouse was started in 1999 by a steering group made up of representatives of other local mental health organisations. The steering group came together in response to two reports which highlighted a gap in mental health services in the borough of Enfield. The Clubhouse model was identified as the most suitable to meet this need because of its track record for aiding the recovery of people with enduring mental health problems.
Enfield Clubhouse is a small, independent charity set up to help people with a mental illness recover purposeful lives in the community. Enfield Clubhouse aims to help people with mental health problems such as schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder (or manic depression), psychotic depression and anxiety disorders find and maintain meaningful work, social lives and supportive relationships. Enfield Clubhouse is based on the international Clubhouse model of work-based rehabilitation (see http://www.iccd.org).
