TFA Abseil

Event date: 1st October 2013

Carrie-Ann Lightley is raising money for Tourism for All UK

My story

After 10 years as the CEO of national charity Tourism for All UK, Jenny Littman, has decided to stand down from the role to make way for new blood and energy. As her parting gesture, she has decided to raise money for the charity by jumping off a cliff! On October 1st Jenny abseiled down a 90ft cliff at Lusty Glaze beach near Newquay Cornwall. She is calling on TFA supporters, Patrons, and the general public to support her with sponsorship. Just hit that green Give Now button above to leave a donation.

In regards to the abseil Jenny said:

"Sometimes over the past ten years, creating awareness of the importance of making tourism accessible to all, and accepting that the disabled person's pound is as valuable as anyone else's, has been a challenge! Disabled people have to get their courage together to undertake even simple trips. I was happy to see the shift in attitudes of the general public that happened last year thanks to the Paralympics and all the courageous paralympians. And also happy that we launched the new OpenBritain website this year to help publicise the accessible options that are now out there. It seemed appropriate to take on some kind of challenge to myself - no comparison of course, but pretty scary for me! Please help Tourism for All in its enabling role by supporting my abseil"
