About my fundraising
With the support of the School for Social Entrepreneurs, The Lary Project looks to support those with voice disorders in the UK.
Voice disorders affect up to 2 million people in the UK. They include everything from nodules and vocal cord scarring to cancer of the larynx. Voice problems are far more than just a hoarse voice, as problematic as this can be. Imagine: a sore throat all the time? Being left breathless just by speaking? A quiet whisper for a voice everyday? Your voice tiring after limited use? Imagine what effect that would have on your life both social and professional? PROJECT AIMS INCLUDE:
create the first UK community/resource for voice disorder sufferers;
provide assistance in purchasing voice assistance equipment not readily available on the NHS (eg. electronic larynxes for those who have lost their larynxes to cancer and voice amplifiers for those with damaged or diseased larynxes);
raise awareness of voice disorders more broadly
