About my fundraising
The first event of Team GAR : Paul Loader & Linda Blampied running the Brighton 2011 marathon, 10th April 2011 in aid of Zorba's Legacy. More events to follow....
The Markopoulo shelter was the first shelter GAR supported in Greece; in fact, the shelter was, at the time, one of the main reasons GAR was founded. GAR funded the running of the shelter for more than 10 years and also 'supplied' volunteers to work there.
In 2001 Zorba arrived from Markopoulo - Paul Loader was a volunteer at the shelter at the time and Zorba was the first dog he sent out. Zorba spent much time at Northdale over the last 2 1/2 years while having his chemotherapy that he became part of the family there, unfortunately losing his battle against cancer 10 December 2010.
Northdale Vets became more and more interested in helping Greek dogs, offering long-distance diagnoses from photographs and X-rays, sending vets to Greece for a week at a time to undertake sterilisations, assist with surgeries etc and also ...
