Swansea Community Farm

Swansea Community Farm, like an outdoor community centre, offers unique opportunities for people to learn about the environment, healthy living and sustainability whilst taking an active role in their local community. With 3.5 acres of paddocks, pastures and accessible buildings/grounds, the Farm ensures that all activities have a negative impact on the environment whilst helping to enhance local biodiversity and encourage nature conservation.

As the only established community-led city farm in Wales, we are a unique resource run by local people for the benefit of the community which is reflected with more than 7,000 visitors, 1500 school children, 500 teachers, 250 youth members and 230 adult volunteers taking part in activities each year.

A) PROMOTE THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF SWANSEA AND THE NEIGHBOURHOOD THEREOF WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF SEX OR POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS, BY ASSOCIATING THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES AND/OR VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS AND INHABITANTS IN A COMMON EFFORT TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND TO PROVIDE FACILITIES IN THE INTEREST OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION AND OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE INHABITANTS, PARTICULARLY OF THOSE WHO HAVE NEED OF SUCH FACILITIES BY REASON OF THEIR YOUTH, AGE, INFIRMITY OR DISABLEMENT, POVERTY OR SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CIRCUMSTANCES.
