Stuart's 50 Mile South Downs Way Challenge

Event date: 5th April 2014

Stuart Hammond is raising money for 4Youth

My story

UPDATE: Wow! Stuart managed to complete this amazing challenge with a fantastic time of 11 hours and 40 minutes even managing a sprint finish! Massive congratulations to Stuart for undertaking this inspiring feat on behalf of 4Youth and a great big thank you to all who have already pledged or donated. There is still time to sponsor Stuart if you haven't already done so to give him a great big pat on the back after all that hard work!

On Saturday 5th April 2014 4Youth's volunteer Finance Director, Stuart Hammond, is going to attempt the biggest running challenge of his life; the 2014 South Downs Way 50 (yes, thats right, 50 miles!!!)

This is a 50 mile running event between Worthing and Eastbourne along the South Downs Way National Trail taking in chalk footpaths, bridleways and trails.

Stuart is taking on this awesome challenge to help 4Youth inspire and enable more young people to achieve more and overcome the challenges in their own lives.

4Youth says: "We know that young people face a wide range of challenges whilst growing up, some of these are clearly visible; others are harder to spot. Through accessing good youth work provision and the many positive benefits this provides, we know that young people stand a better chance of growing up happy, successful, independent & involved, are resilient enough to cope and have the right skills for life.

We know that good youth work helps young people achieve their true potential and our role is to provide the help and support needed by young people, individuals and organisations to make this happen.

It is thanks to people like Stuart and the generosity of people like you that we are able to continue this much needed work".
