About my fundraising
Sunday 22nd April 2012 - The Virgin London Marathon
The marathon is a long-distance running event with an official distance of 42.195 kilometres (26 miles and 385 yards)...yikes!
I am going to be running for a charity that is close to our hearts called "ZIMKIDS". Jen, my wife was born out in Zimbabwe and lived there nearly 20 years before the country`s economy collapsed and the vulnerable were left to fend for themselves! Last year we went out to Zim and it was an incredible experience, such a beautiful country. Friends and family have been involved with this charity Zimkids who support orphaned kids and do an amazing work and we would love to give something back to Zim!
Just to give you a little background info - Zimkids are helping to build brighter futures for vulnerable children and families in Zimbabwe. Go to www.zimkids.org for more info.
I am going to need as much support as possible in preparing for the race, training...getting up in the midst of winter...
