We've been living in Cardiff for three years, now, but unfortunately this will be our last summer as we move back to Germany in July. We've had a wonderful time in Wales and got to know a lot of really nice and welcoming people.

This challenge therefore feels like both a farewell, and a thank you, to the Kindergarten that has provided a lovely second home to our children, and a place for us to meet wonderful people who've become firm friends.

Cardiff Steiner Early Years Centre really helped us integrate into Cardiff life and feel quickly at home. It's been wonderful to hear our children's first words in English, to see how they slowly made friends, to watch their endless puppet shows, taste lovely potions in the garden and take part in fairs and festivals. We'll try to take as much of the experience home with us as we can, yet will know that it can't ever be quite the same.

To support the Centre I am taking part (along with four good friends from Kindergarten) in The National Three Peaks Challenge. On Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 June we'll attempt to climb the 3 highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours. We'll climb each peak in turn, and drive from the foot of one mountain to the next, walking in total around 26 miles, and climbing 9,800 feet.

We'll start by climbing Ben Nevis in Scotland on Saturday at 5.00pm, drive south to Scafell Pike in the Lake District in England, and finish at Snowdon in North Wales by Sunday 5.00pm. The team started training in March, running, cycling and walking up Pen-Y-Fan (the highest mountain in South Wales). I'd like to ask for your support on this charity challenge. All funds raised will support the Centre in their daily work and give other families the opportunity to join Kindergarten and experience what a wonderful place it is.
