Madrid Marathon Attempt in aid of SHAK

Hello folks - it's that time again and I'm back on the fundraising trail, this time for a slightly different charity, but no less important. A friend of mine runs a dog shelter by the name of SHAK (Safe Homes and Kindness) in Northumberland, whose aim it is to save vulnerable dogs from death row, to give them the basic food, care and a routine that they need. As a dog-lover this is my chance to make a difference to a great animal charity in the form of running a challenging 26.2 mile marathon in the heat of Madrid. In keeping with the Celtic theme of all my fundraising events, one of the volunteers for SHAK is former Celtic player Mike Galloway who gave me the idea for this. My travel, accommodation and marathon entry fee has been paid for out of my own pocket so every penny raised on this page will go direct to the charity. Whether you're a dog lover or not, every penny raised on this page will be appreciated by myself and the fully-deserving charity.
