After battling A.L.L. leukaemia for two and a half years, I finally finished my treatment on August 18th 2011. Since then I've made a pact that every year on this day I'll live my life to the fullest and complete a wish on my bucket list. For my first anniversary of being in remission, I've chosen to complete a sponsored Skydive for the charity which remains the closest to my heart - the Sara Hope Foundation.

The Sara Hope Charity was inspired by the lovely Sara Hoburn, who tragically passed away with an extremely rare form of colon cancer at the age of 16 in 2001. The charity is run by by a number of truly amazing and kind-hearted people, including Sara's family and Carol (not forgetting the incredible back of house team!). The charity runs a fantastic holiday villa in Crete which caters for young cancer sufferers and their families. The charity runs a fantastic holiday villa in Crete which caters for young cancer sufferers and their families. The week can be spent relaxing in the gorgeous Greek sun or taking part in an action-packed holiday - including boat trips, jet-skiing and more... Either way, it's the child's choice as to how they want to spend their holiday. But one thing's for sure - their holiday will be a soothing week away from the child's usual routine of long hospital stays, traumatic medical procedures and other cancer related treatments.

Last September, I was extremely fortunate enough to visit the retreat with my family. Overall the week was absolutely breath-taking, leaving me with memories I'll treasure for the rest of my life. Moreover, I've become so close to the Hoburn family that I now consider them as a second family of mine. Although the holiday is only a week long, the relationship you gain with the family is for life. Due to this, I've decided that I want to give back to the charity so that other young cancer sufferers may also enjoy a week relaxing away from all of those hospital related traumas and additionally experience the family's contagious smiles and laughter.
