About my fundraising
On 26th September I will be taking part in The Great Salford Swim, which consists of swimming a mile in open water in the shortest length of time possible.
I am not only doing this to the amusement of my very good friends who are going to come along and support me purely to ...see me freeze in a wetsuit. But also for a serious cause.
I am hoping to raise money for the Leisure for Autism Scheme, which is a summer scheme held here in Wigan and throughout Greater Manchester who have some fabulously trained staff. The aim of the scheme is to give groups of local children who have Autism (Autistic Spectrum Disorder/ASD) and other combined difficulties a fun week taking part in activities and going on trips to places that they would not usually get the chance to experience.
I am sure everyone can imagine some of the horrific things such vulnerable children are subjected to when they simply try to go out for the day with their families and friends. Well this scheme provide...
