About Rural Assistance Nepal (RAN)
Rural Assistance Nepal was set up earlier this year (2008) to help advance education and training to children and adults; relieve sickness and to promote good health by assisting in the provision of healthcare; and to relieve financial hardship in Nepal. The charity was formed after working for over two years with schools in the villages of Deusa in Solukhumbu and Garimudi, Dolaka, to make support for the teachers there more sustainable. RAN is currently working to help support teachers and a nurse at two government schools (class 1 to 10) and a healthpost.
