Roxy Legane is raising money for England Amputee Football Association
Hi everyone,
So I woke up today (07.09.14) deciding to have a break from alcohol for many different reasons. I'm not sure I completely agree with asking for money just for giving up alcohol, but it's something I really need to do, for something I really want to raise money for.
I'm going to stay away from the sauce for 12 weeks. Taking me to December 1st.
It may not be viewed as a challenge, but those close to me know I will find this very hard, especially having just moved to a new city!
But here's the story...
I've recently moved to Manchester for a new job and been inspired by someone who I have never met.
My predecessor Tom Jordan lost his fight with cancer this year. Tom became captain of the GB Amputee Football team, and would have led them to this year's World Cup.
Those in Sport Development at Manchester City Council do a lot to fundraise for the team, particularly to help the team get to the tournament as they don't receive any funding from UK Sport.
I want to do my bit, and some may not agree with the method but it's something I need to do and a cause I would like to support.
So please donate if you would like to help :) but if not, encouragement is also welcome!
Thanks for reading,
Roxy
