The majority of our volunteers work in East Africa and they are dealing on a daily basis with the effects of severe drought, crop failiure and the susequent doubling of the price of basic foodstuffs. For example VMM has 2 volunteers from Manchester who have set up a new community clinic based alongside a secondary school in Lushoto in Tanzania. Rising prices for foods, transport and medicines are affecting the people we work with.

A donation to VMM, which celebrates 40 years as a forward thinking faith-based NGO in 2009, would be a targeted gift to meet the long term needs of the world's poorest. These are challenging times for many of us in Europe but the combined effects of global economic meltdown and climate change will impact greatly in Africa.

Our volunteers work at the frontline of tackling poverty and injustice- equipping local people in Africa and Latin America with the opportunities to improve their own lives. Your donation will help us to respond to more of the requests we receive for skilled personnel - which at the moment we do not have the resources for.
