My story
Deaf people especially children are invisible when it comes to being provided with services that match their needs. CoDeaf want to provide sign language lessons free of charge to every family with a deaf member - this should be available from the education authorities but isn't and we feel it is essential that families are taught to communicate in a way that supports children and adults alike. Also CoDeaf work to provide advocacy and representation at the highest levels to ensure deaf and deafened people can access services at the same level as hearing people.
This work involves advocates visiting councils, prisons, police stations,shops etc. and is an immense amount of work.
